Details

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…Portions of south central and southeast Kansas, including
the following counties, in south central Kansas, Butler. In
southeast Kansas, Greenwood.

* WHEN…Until 245 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 1037 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in
the warned area.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Eureka, Leon, Madison, Hamilton, Rosalia, Cassoday, Virgil,
Eureka City Lake, Eureka Airport, Thrall, El Dorado State
Park and El Dorado Lake.

Instructions

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don’t
drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
