…The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Nebraska…

Platte River Near Louisville affecting Cass and Sarpy Counties.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Platte River near Louisville.

* WHEN…From this afternoon to Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS…At 9.0 feet, The bike path at Highway 50 along the river
begins to flood. Also, lowland flooding starts along both of the
banks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 2:15 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 5.5 feet.
– Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage this
afternoon to a crest of 9.9 feet just after midnight tonight. It
will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning.
– Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.0
feet on 02/22/1982.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
