…The National Weather Service in Wichita KS has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Kansas…

Neosho River near Chanute affecting Allen and Neosho Counties.

Neosho River near Erie affecting Neosho County.

Neosho River near Parsons affecting Neosho and Labette Counties.

Neosho River at Oswego affecting Cherokee and Labette Counties.

* WHAT…Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Neosho River at Oswego.

* WHEN…From late Friday night to late Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS…At 22.5 feet, Riverside Park Drive floods from east of
Xavier Road, just south of the river gage bridge, to 100 yards
east towards the water plant.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 7:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 8.6 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early Saturday morning to a crest of 22.0 feet Sunday
morning. It will then fall below flood stage Monday
afternoon.
– Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

Instructions

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don’t
drown.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
