* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…A portion of northwest Kansas, including the following
counties, Decatur and Rawlins.
* WHEN…Until 400 PM CDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from rainfall on Saturday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 208 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area.
Between 3 and 7.5 inches of rain have fallen.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Oberlin, Atwood, McDonald, Ludell, Blakeman, Beardsley and
Leoville.
Instructions
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
