…The National Weather Service in Goodland KS has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Kansas…

Sappa Creek At Oberlin 1sw affecting Decatur County.

For the Sappa Creek…including Norcatur 15ne, Oberlin 1sw…
Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.

* WHERE…Sappa Creek at Oberlin 1sw.

* WHEN…From this evening to Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS…At 11.0 feet, Water spreads over agricultural fields and
low lying areas with actual water depth in creek at about 6 feet.
At 15.0 feet, Moderate flooding will occur in nearby agricultural
fields and low lying areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 4:45 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 13.6 feet.
– Bankfull stage is 11.0 feet.
– Recent Activity…The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 4:45 PM CDT Sunday was 13.6 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise to a crest of 14.3
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
flood stage Tuesday morning.
– Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
– Flood History…No available flood history.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
