…The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Iowa…

Nishnabotna River Above Hamburg affecting Fremont County.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Nishnabotna River above Hamburg.

* WHEN…From Friday morning to late Sunday night.

* IMPACTS…At 27.5 feet, State Highway 275 south of the gage may be
threatened in several spots.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 3:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 16.1 feet.
– Bankfull stage is 23.0 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage late
tomorrow morning to a crest of 27.1 feet Saturday morning. It
will then fall below flood stage Sunday morning.
– Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of 27.3
feet on 06/15/1982.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law

Weather Service when you can do so safely.
