…The National Weather Service in Norman OK has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Oklahoma…

Chikaskia River near Blackwell affecting Grant and Kay Counties.

* WHAT…Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Chikaskia River near Blackwell.

* WHEN…From this evening to early Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS…At 31.0 feet, Several city blocks in the northeast
portions of Blackwell may be affected. Streets closest to the
river may be nearly impassable… with depths approaching 2 feet.
Highway 177 north of Blackwell is overtopped… and Hubbard Road
southeast of Blackwell is closed. Rural lands are covered by
floodwaters ranging up to 3 feet in depth in extreme northeastern
Grant and Kay counties.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 1:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 26.3 feet.
– Bankfull stage is 28.0 feet.
– Forecast…The Chikaskia River is expected to rise above
flood stage late this evening to a crest of 31.3 feet early
tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage
Saturday morning.
– Flood stage is 29.0 feet.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
