…The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill has
issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Missouri…

Platte River near Platte City affecting Platte County.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Platte River near Platte City.

* WHEN…From Friday afternoon to Monday afternoon.

* IMPACTS…At 20.0 feet, Cropland near State Highway 92 near Platte
City begins to flood. At 22.0 feet, Flooding occurs at Humphreys
Access Area which is located 5 miles downstream from Platte City.
300 acres of pasture are also flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 9:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 3.6 feet.
– Forecast…The river will rise to 7.4 feet early tomorrow
afternoon. It will then fall to 7.3 feet tomorrow evening. It
will rise above flood stage Friday afternoon to 22.7 feet early
Sunday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday
afternoon.
– Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
