…The National Weather Service in Des Moines IA has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Iowa…

Fourmile Creek at Des Moines Easton Blvd affecting Polk County.

* WHAT…Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…The Fourmile Creek at Des Moines Easton Blvd, or from
below Interstate 80 to the Des Moines River.

* WHEN…From early this morning to this evening.

* IMPACTS…At 16.0 feet, Water affects businesses and apartments
east of E 33rd St near E Douglas Ave…E Euclid Ave and Hubbell
Ave.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 12:15 AM CDT Friday the stage was 3.8 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early this morning to a crest of 15.5 feet late this morning.
It will then fall below flood stage this afternoon.
– Flood stage is 12.5 feet.

Instructions

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
