Details

* WHAT…Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE…Portions of southeast New Mexico, including the following
area, Southern Lea and western Texas, including the following
areas, Andrews, Gaines, Loving and Winkler.

* WHEN…Through Friday afternoon.

* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water
crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of
creeks and rivers are possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will develop this
afternoon and evening and again on Friday over the northwest
Permian Basin and southern Lea County far southeast New Mexico as
an upper level low slowly moves westward over the region.
Localized rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches with isolated amounts
over 4 inches will be possible with the heaviest showers and
thunderstorms that develop. Heavy rainfall over a short period of
time may result in flash flooding.
