* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Southeastern Itasca County in north central Minnesota…
Northern Aitkin County in east central Minnesota…
Southwestern St. Louis County in northeastern Minnesota…
Northwestern Carlton County in northeastern Minnesota…

* Until 1245 AM CDT.

* At 1140 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Swatara to near Palisade, moving northeast at
55 mph.

THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR NORTHERN AITKIN, SOUTHWEST ST.
LOUIS, NORTHWEST CARLTON AND SOUTHEAST ITASCA COUNTIES.

HAZARD…80 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

Palisade around 1145 PM CDT.
Big Sandy Lake, Libby, and Savanna Portage State Park around 1150
PM CDT.
Jacobson around 1155 PM CDT.
Swan River around 1200 AM CDT.

Other locations in the path of these severe thunderstorms include
Floodwood and Meadowlands.

Instructions

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 100 AM CDT for north central
and east central Minnesota.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado, go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
