* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Northeastern Clay County in northwestern Minnesota…
Southeastern Norman County in northwestern Minnesota…
Mahnomen County in northwestern Minnesota…
Northwestern Becker County in northwestern Minnesota…

* Until 745 PM CDT.

* At 648 PM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms was located near
Borup to Mahnomen, or 26 miles northeast of Fargo, moving east at
35 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Mahnomen, Twin Valley, Ulen, Island Lake in Mahnomen County,
Waubun, Naytahwaush, and Callaway.

Instructions

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature’s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.

If on or near area lakes, get away from the water and move indoors
or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
