* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Southern Ector County in western Texas…
Northeastern Ward County in western Texas…
Northwestern Crane County in western Texas…

* Until 845 PM CDT.

* At 800 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles east of
Monahans, moving northeast at 35 mph.

THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR LOCATIONS FROM RURAL NORTHWESTERN
CRANE COUNTY TO NEAR PENWELL AND ADJACENT INTERSTATE 20.

HAZARD…Baseball size hail and 70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…People and animals outdoors will be severely injured.
Expect shattered windows, extensive damage to roofs,
siding, and vehicles.

* Locations impacted include…
Monahans, West Odessa, Penwell, and Monahans Sandhills State Park.

This includes Interstate 20 between mile markers 81 and 114.

Instructions

This is a dangerous storm. Prepare immediately for large destructive
hail capable of producing significant damage. People outside should
move to shelter inside a strong building, and stay away from windows.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature’s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
