* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Northwestern Mellette County in south central South Dakota…
Northern Jackson County in southwestern South Dakota…
Haakon County in west central South Dakota…
East Central Meade County in west central South Dakota…
Eastern Pennington County in west central South Dakota…
Southern Ziebach County in west central South Dakota…

* Until 815 PM MDT /915 PM CDT/.

* At 710 PM MDT /810 PM CDT/, severe thunderstorms were located along
a line from over Takini to 8 miles southeast of Cactus Flat, or
along a line from 28 miles south of Faith to 15 miles west of
Kadoka, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include…
Philip, Kadoka, Cherry Creek, Milesville, Midland, Interior,
Plainview, Quinn, Belvidere, Billsburg, Ottumwa, Bridger,
Grindstone, Kirley, Red Scaffold, Howes, Cactus Flat, Cedar Pass,
Marcus and South Eagle Butte.

This includes Interstate 90 in South Dakota between Mile Markers 118
and 174.

Instructions

Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing
widespread damaging winds and large hail.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM MDT /1200 AM CDT/ for
portions of southwest and west central South Dakota.
