Des Moines County in southeastern Iowa…
Northeastern Lee County in southeastern Iowa…

* Until 1030 PM CDT.

* At 930 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Lowell, or 8
miles southeast of Mount Pleasant, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Burlington, Mount Pleasant, Oquawka, West Burlington, New London,
Danville, Stronghurst, Middletown, Carman, Biggsville, Gladstone,
Rozetta, Raritan, Gulf Port, Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Lowell,
Media, Geode State Park, Welter Recreation Area, and Shokokon.

This also includes Delabar State Park and Henderson County
Conservation Area.

Instructions

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature’s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
