Details

At 1004 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Masonville to near Garrison. Movement was
southeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Strong winds could break small tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include…
Cedar Rapids, Independence, Vinton, Marion, Hiawatha, Monticello,
Robins, Center Point, Atkins, Urbana, Dysart, Central City, Palo,
Shellsburg, Winthrop, Walker, Alburnett, Coggon, Quasqueton, and
Garrison.

This includes Interstate 380 between mile markers 23 and 55.

Instructions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring and may lead to localized flooding.
Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
