Details
At 257 AM CDT/157 AM MDT/, Doppler radar was tracking strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Chappell to 8 miles
northwest of Madrid to 8 miles east of Hayes Center. Movement was
northeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include…
Ogallala, Grant, Curtis, Chappell, Big Springs, Hayes Center,
Sutherland, Paxton, Wallace, Brule, Madrid, Venango, Elsie,
Wellfleet, Moorefield, Stockville, Dickens, Kingsley Dam, Barton, and
Medicine Creek Reservoir State Recreation Area.
This includes the following highways…
Highway 61 between mile markers 54 and 103.
Highway 92 between mile markers 122 and 138.
Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 78 and 160.
Highway 83 between mile markers 27 and 69.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in North Platte.
Persons in campgrounds, particularly around Lake McConaughy, should
consider seeking sturdy shelter until these storms pass.
