Special Weather Statement issued September 5 at 10:07PM MDT by NWS North Platte NE
Details
At 1007 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 7 miles north of Sunol to 7 miles northeast of
Twin Buttes to near Crook. Movement was east at 20 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include…
Chappell, Barton, Mount Vernon, and Intersection of Highway 27 and 9
Mile Road.
This includes Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 78 and
101.
Instructions
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

office in North Platte.
