Details

At 253 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Fort Davis to 7 miles
west of Marfa Municipal Airport to 12 miles south of Alpine. Movement
was southwest at 5 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include…
Alpine, Marfa, Fort Davis, Bloys Camp, Alpine-Casparis Municipal
Airport, Davis Mountains State Park, McDonald Observatory, Camp Mitre
Peak, Marfa Municipal Airport, Black Mountain, Star Mountain, Paisano
Pass, Buffalo Trail Scout Camp, Indian Lodge, Fort Davis National
Historical Site, and Elephant Mountain Wildlife Management Area.

Instructions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
