– About 70 miles north-northeast of Galveston TX
– 30.2N 94.2W
– Storm Intensity 45 mph
– Movement Northwest or 305 degrees at 7 mph

SITUATION OVERVIEW

Tropical Storm Edouard’s center is now passing over Beaumont
Metropolitan Area. The tropical storm winds extends outward up to 25
miles from the center. Winds will continue to decrease over Southeast
Texas, however, Edouard can still produce strong gusty winds mainly
over areas along and east of I-45. A Wind Advisory will remain in
effect for the far eastern and northeastern counties. Also, the
system’s rainbands will continue to produce moderate to heavy rainfall,
which has the potential for flash flooding. Moreover, residual
tropical moisture behind the system could result in additional rainfall
on Wednesday as well.

POTENTIAL IMPACTS

* FLOODING RAIN:
Additional impacts from flooding rain are still a concern across
portions of Southeast Texas. Remain well guarded against
life-threatening flood waters having further impacts of extensive
potential.

Little to no additional wind impacts expected.

– Community officials are now assessing the extent of actual wind
impacts accordingly.

infrastructure as necessary.

Elsewhere across Southeast Texas, little to no impact is anticipated.

* SURGE:
Little to no impacts are anticipated at this time across Southeast
Texas.

* TORNADOES:
Additional impacts from tornadoes are still a concern across the far
eastern counties of Southeast Texas through late this evening. Remain
well braced against tornado event having further limited impact
potential.

Elsewhere across Southeast Texas, little to no impact is anticipated.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS

* EVACUATIONS:
Follow the advice of local officials.

* OTHER PREPAREDNESS INFORMATION:
Remain safely sheltered until conditions improve. When going outside
be sure to stay away from downed power lines, hazardous debris and
flooded areas.

If your home or shelter was damaged, be alert to the smell of gas
leaks and be cautious around electrical wiring, broken glass, jagged
metal and wood, and protruding nails and screws.

Do not attempt to return to evacuated areas until local authorities
have inspected roads and bridges and have given the all clear.
Hazards like downed power lines and trees, washed out roads,
continued flooding in low lying areas and non-functioning traffic
lights make travel difficult.

Be alert for flooded roads which could be compromised or littered
with debris. Avoid travel until water levels subside and roads have
been cleared. Do not drive through places where flood waters cover
the road. Turn around, don’t drown!
