The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a

* Dust Advisory for…
Southeastern Luna County in southwestern New Mexico…
Southern Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico…
Northwestern El Paso County in western Texas…

* Until 715 PM MDT.

* At 548 PM MDT, an area of blowing dust was over West El Paso.

HAZARD…Less than one mile visibility with strong winds of 35
to 50 mph.

SOURCE…Doppler radar and observers.

IMPACT…Hazardous travel.

* I-10 corridor from Deming to El Paso may be impacted with the
blowing dust.

Locations impacted include…
West El Paso, Central El Paso, Columbus, Las Cruces, Santa Teresa,
Anthony, Vado, Deming, Sunland Park, NMSU Main Campus, Canutillo,
Akela, Afton, Berino, Anthony Gap, Vinton, Mesilla, San Miguel,
Westway, and Mesquite.

Instructions

Blowing dust can be unhealthy and has been known to lead to Valley
Fever. Avoid outdoor exposure.

Blowing dust brings reduced visibility, leading to dangerous driving
conditions. If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in
dense blowing dust, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep
your foot off the brake.
