The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a

* Dust Advisory for…
Southern Luna County in southwestern New Mexico…
Southwestern Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico…
El Paso County in western Texas…

* Until 700 PM MDT.

* At 457 PM MDT, an area of blowing dust was over West El Paso.

HAZARD…Less than one mile visibility with strong winds up to 45
mph.

SOURCE…Detected by National Weather Service meteorologists.

IMPACT…Hazardous travel. Portions of I-10 in El Paso county, and
western Dona Ana county. Eventually Deming and HWY-11,
and also HWY-9 will also see blowing dust.

Locations impacted include…
West El Paso, East El Paso, Central El Paso, Northeast El Paso, Far
East El Paso, Mission Valley, Tornillo, Fabens, Clint, Horizon City,
Columbus, Santa Teresa, Anthony, Deming, Sunland Park, Akela,
Canutillo, Afton, San Elizario, and Vinton.

Instructions

Blowing dust brings reduced visibility, leading to dangerous driving
conditions. If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in
dense blowing dust, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep
your foot off the brake.

Motorists should not drive into an area of blowing dust. PULL ASIDE
STAY ALIVE!
