…Multiple Hours of Critical Fire Weather Possible Wednesday…
.An early morning frontal passage is forecast to lead to breezy to
windy conditions through the day Wednesday. The highest wind
gusts for the day are forecast Wednesday morning before a higher
sustained wind of 15-25 mph continues through the late morning and
afternoon. Humidity is forecast to fall into the mid teens by the
early afternoon hours.
The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.
* AFFECTED AREA…Fire Weather Zones 079 Dundy, 080 Hitchcock
and 081 Red Willow.
* TIMING…From Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.
* WINDS…North 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as 15 percent.
* IMPACTS…Unpredictable fire behavior. Any fires that develop
may rapidly grow and spread out of control.
