The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Northeastern Bosque County in central Texas…
Northwestern Hill County in central Texas…

* Until 115 AM CDT.

* At 1009 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated stationary thunderstorms
producing very heavy rain across northern Hill County from Blum to
Itasca. Radar estimates between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen
in the past 45 minutes near Itasca. Additional rainfall amounts of
1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area over the next 1 to 2
hours. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Itasca, Blum, Covington, Lake Whitney, Osceola, Woodbury, Mayfield,
Lovelace, Kopperl and Lakeside Village.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
