The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Western Cameron County in deep south Texas…
Southeastern Hidalgo County in deep south Texas…

* Until 900 AM CDT.

* At 700 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of
rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Weslaco, Alamo, Donna, Mercedes, Weslaco Fire Department Station
Two, Weslaco City Hall, Weslaco Public Library, Alameda Park,
Weslaco High School, Sam Houston Elementary School, Harlon Block
Sports Complex, Isaac D. Rodriguez Park, Knapp Medical Center,
Black Elementary School, Weslaco City Park, Weslaco Border Patrol
Station, Midway South, Weslaco Fire Department Station One and
Weslaco East High School.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
