Iowa County in east central Iowa…
Southern Johnson County in east central Iowa…
Southern Jones County in east central Iowa…
Central Linn County in east central Iowa…
Muscatine County in east central Iowa…
Keokuk County in southeastern Iowa…
Louisa County in southeastern Iowa…
Washington County in southeastern Iowa…
Mercer County in northwestern Illinois…
Southwestern Rock Island County in northwestern Illinois…

* Until 200 PM CDT Wednesday.

* At 755 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Muscatine, Washington, Aledo, Tipton,
West Branch, Wapello, Sigourney, Columbus Junction, Durant,
Mechanicsville, Stanwood, Marion, Hiawatha, West Liberty, Robins,
Williamsburg, Wilton and Center Point.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 205 and 229…and
between mile markers 254 and 278.
Interstate 380 between mile markers 25 and 36.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
