The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
North Central El Paso County in western Texas…

* Until 615 PM MDT.

* At 416 PM MDT, Persistent thunderstorms with heavy rainfall
continue to affect parts of northeast El Paso, particularly north
of Spur 601, and around Loop 375 at Dyer. Rainfall rates of 2
inches per hour have been observed, and gauge reports are nearing
the 1 inch mark.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of urban areas, highways, streets and
underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-
lying areas. Channelized arroyos will become raging
torrents and very dangerous.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Northeast El Paso, Fort Bliss and Biggs Field.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
