The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Northwestern El Paso County in western Texas…

* Until 1015 PM MDT.

* At 742 PM MDT, Thunderstorms continue to push through the El Paso
Area. Particularly heavy rain is falling in central and east El
Paso where storms have slowed down a bit.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of surban areas, highways, streets and
underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-
lying areas. Arroyo channels will also likely become
inundated and fast flowing.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Central and East El Paso, including Fort Bliss, and McKelligon
Canyon.

Minor flooding has been noted along portions of I-10, particularly
around I-10 at Westmoreland and Airway. Flooding may impact low
water crossings in McKelligon Canyon, with debris left behind when
waters recede.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
