The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Southwestern Saunders County in east central Nebraska…
Northern Lancaster County in southeastern Nebraska…
Eastern Seward County in southeastern Nebraska…

* Until 130 AM CDT.

* At 1025 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain
have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1.5 to 3 inches in 1
hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Northwestern Lincoln, Milford, Ceresco, Valparaiso, Malcolm,
Garland, Pleasant Dale, Raymond, Davey, Ithaca, Lincoln Airport,
Emerald, Branched Oak State Recreation Area and Pawnee State
Recreation Area.

This includes Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 379 and
395…and between mile markers 399 and 405.

This also includes Highway 77 between Lincoln and Ceresco.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
