Southeastern Sibley County in central Minnesota…
Central Le Sueur County in south central Minnesota…
Northeastern Nicollet County in south central Minnesota…
* Until 145 PM CDT.
* At 752 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3.5 and 4.5 inches of
rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE…The pubic reported over 4 inches of rain fell in some
spots, and radar indicated additional rainfall of 1 to 3
inches possible this morning.
IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
St. Peter, Le Sueur, Le Center, Henderson, Kasota, Ottawa, St
Thomas and St Henry.
Instructions
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
