The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Western Mason County in west central Texas…

* Until 700 AM CDT.

* At 405 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms with very
heavy rain repeatedly tracking north across western Mason County.
Between 1.5 and 2.25 inches of rain have already fallen. Additional
rainfall amounts of 0.75 to 1.5 inches are expected in the warned
area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Streeter, Grit, Camp Air, Katemcy and The Intersection Of Highway
29 And Ranch Road 1222.

This includes the following Low Water Crossings…
Hurley crossing, Katemcy crossing, Old Junction crossing Honey Creek,
Turkey SpringS crossing, Red crossing Little Bluff Creek, Hungry
Hollow crossing, Chimney Hollow crossing Big Bluff Creek, Mill Creek
crossing Mill Creek and Sandy crossing.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
