The National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Northeastern Mitchell County in western Texas…
Southeastern Scurry County in western Texas…

* Until 130 PM CDT.

* At 1033 AM CDT, the public reported flash flooding along roads
between Ira and Dunn. Doppler radar indicated slow moving showers
and thunderstorms producing very heavy rainfall across the warned
area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Public reported.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Snyder, Colorado City Airport, Inadale, Dunn, Buford, Hermleigh,
Ira and Winston Field.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
