The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
South Central Otero County in south central New Mexico…
North Central Hudspeth County in western Texas…

* Until 145 AM MDT.

* At 1049 PM MDT, Slow moving thunderstorms have been training across
parts of the Otero Mesa from Hudspeth County. 1 to 1.50 inches of
rain has fallen northwest of Dell City. This will lead to flooding
in arroyos and draws that flow east. Back roads in the area
northwest of Dell City will also experience flooding.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Instructions

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
