The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Eastern Randall County in the panhandle of Texas…

* Until 915 PM CDT.

* At 620 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain in Flooding reported in Lake Tanglewood.
Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall
rate is 1.5 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1
to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Trained spotters reported.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Lake Tanglewood and Palo Duro Canyon.

2 Feet of fast moving water reported in Lake Tanglewood area with
some roads closed.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
