…The National Weather Service in Quad Cities IA IL has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Iowa…
Skunk River at Augusta affecting Lee, Henry IA and Des Moines
Counties.
* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE…Skunk River at Augusta.
* WHEN…From Thursday afternoon to early Saturday morning.
* IMPACTS…At 15.0 feet, Water overflows the south river bank near
the Perkins Road bridge at Augusta.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 7:45 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 12.1 feet and rising
rapidly.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 15.5 feet tomorrow
evening. It will then fall below flood stage Friday
afternoon.
– Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
Instructions
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
