* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…East Central Dickinson County in central Kansas…
Geary County in east central Kansas…
Northwestern Morris County in east central Kansas…
West Central Wabaunsee County in east central Kansas…
* WHEN…Until 1015 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be
passable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 651 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to storms. Flooding is already occurring in the
warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch is possible in the
warned area.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Junction City, Grandview Plaza, White City, Dwight, Parkerville,
Latimer and Council Grove Lake.
– This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 291 and 302…
and between mile markers 310 and 315.
