Details

Rainfall accumulations Saturday night totaled up to and estimated
7.5 inches in the warned area.

* WHAT…Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
occurring.

* WHERE…Portions of northwest and west central Kansas, including
the following counties, in northwest Kansas, Sheridan and Thomas.
In west central Kansas, Gove.

* WHEN…Until 730 AM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water
crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 149 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in the
warned area. The Solomon and Saline rivers are out of their
banks. Flooding is already occurring. Between 3.5 and 6.5
inches of rain have fallen.
– Additional storms are expected to move through the area this
afternoon and evening. Additional rainfall totals look to
remain under 1.5 inch es in the Warned area
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Colby, Oakley, Hoxie, Quinter, Grainfield, Grinnell, Levant,
Rexford, Selden, Park, Gem, Menlo, Seguin, Angelus, Halford,
Mingo, Tasco and Studley.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
