Details

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.

* WHERE…Lamar County in north central Texas.

* WHEN…Until 200 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is occurring. Numerous roads remain
closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for all the
water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in
urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 1054 AM CDT, Emergency management reported flooding still
ongoing across northern portions of Lamar county where between 3
and 8 inches of rain have fallen.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Paris, Reno, Blossom, Lake Crook, Powderly, Camp Maxey, Lake
Gibbons, Sumner, Pat Mayse Lake, Pattonville, Arthur City,
Deport, Novice, Toco, Sun Valley, Faught, Atlas, Glory,
Biardstown and Midcity.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
