…The National Weather Service in Wichita KS has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Kansas…

Ninnescah River near Peck affecting Sedgwick and Sumner Counties.

Ninnescah River near Belle Plaine affecting Sumner County.

* WHAT…Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Ninnescah River near Belle Plaine.

* WHEN…From this morning to early Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS…At 24.0 feet, Three miles west of Belle Plaine near the
gage site, a small section of K55 floods east of the bridge. Flood
waters flow over Highway 81 starting at 1/2 mile north of K55 and
spreading to 100th Avenue. The water on Highway 81 may be near 1.5
ft deep.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 7:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 16.8 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this morning to a crest of 24.6 feet just after midnight
tonight. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow
evening.
– Flood stage is 23.0 feet.

Instructions

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don’t
drown.
