Details

Several rounds of heavy rain producing thunderstorms today through
Friday may produce flash flooding, as well as rises on area creeks
and rivers.

* WHAT…Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE…Portions of Illinois, including the following areas,
Bureau, Carroll, Henry IL, Putnam, Rock Island and Whiteside and
east central Iowa, including the following areas, Benton, Cedar,
Clinton, Iowa, Jackson, Johnson, Jones, Linn, Muscatine and Scott.

* WHEN…From this evening through Friday morning.

* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– A complex of heavy rain producing thunderstorms will move across
the area today and prime the area for tonight. More thunderstorms
are expected to develop tonight and will have the potential to
move across the same areas repeatedly with heavy rain, bringing
the threat for flash flooding especially across areas already
impacted by heavy rainfall earlier in the day.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
