* WHAT…Heat index values up to 109 expected

* WHERE…Decatur, Graham, Norton, Sheridan, Thomas, Gove, Greeley,
Logan, Wallace, and Wichita Counties.

* WHEN…From 1 PM CDT /noon MDT/ this afternoon to 9 PM CDT /8 PM
MDT/ this evening.

* IMPACTS…Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat events.

Instructions

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
