* WHAT…For the Extreme Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions
with heat index values up to 110. For the Heat Advisory, heat index
values up to 105 expected.
* WHERE…Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 110
expected in southwest Iowa Monday and 105 Tuesday. Overnight
minimum heat index values remain in the upper-70s.
* WHEN…For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 9 PM CDT this evening.
For the Heat Advisory, from 9 PM this evening to 9 PM CDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS…Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high
humidity may cause heat illnesses.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Overnight heat indices in the mid-70s will
make it difficult for homes without air conditioning to cool down.
Hot weather is expected to persist through the week.
Instructions
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
