The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Southwestern Armstrong County in the Panhandle of Texas…
Eastern Randall County in the Panhandle of Texas…

* Until 700 PM CDT.

* At 539 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Lake
Tanglewood, or 9 miles northeast of Canyon, moving south at 10 mph.

HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect some tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Hail damage to vehicles
is expected.

* Locations impacted include…
Lake Tanglewood, Wayside, Palo Duro Canyon, Mescalero Park, and
Timbercreek Canyon.

Instructions

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature’s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
