The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
West central Cherry County in north central Nebraska…
Northeastern Sheridan County in the Panhandle of Nebraska…

* Until 700 PM MDT.

* At 620 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Rushville,
moving east at 35 mph.

THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR WEST CENTRAL SHERIDAN COUNTY!.

HAZARD…80 mph wind gusts and ping pong ball size hail.

SOURCE…Mesonet reported gusts of 78 mph.

IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

* Locations impacted include…
Gordon, Rushville, Clinton, Billys Lake, Lone Butte, Highway 27
crossing the Niobrara River, Highway 250 crossing the Niobrara
River, Rock Hill, and Intersection of Highway 27 and Mills Road.

This includes the following highways…
Highway 20 between mile markers 87 and 109.
Highway 250 between mile markers 38 and 48.

Instructions

This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION with tornado like wind
speeds expected. Mobile homes and high profile vehicles are
especially susceptible to winds of this magnitude and may be
overturned. For your protection move to an interior room on the
lowest floor of a building. This storm has the potential to cause
serious injury and significant property damage.

This is a dangerous storm, capable of producing large hail driven by
severe winds! SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay
away from windows! If you are caught outdoors, cover your head and
neck.
