The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Northeastern Cherry County in north central Nebraska…

* Until 145 AM CDT.

* At 102 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Kilgore to 7 miles northwest of Merritt
Reservoir, moving southeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.

* Severe thunderstorms will be near…
Merritt Reservoir around 110 AM CDT.
Valentine around 125 AM CDT.

Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include
Highway 97 crossing the Niobrara River, Crookston, Anderson Bridge
State Wildlife Management Area, Big Alkali Lake State Wildlife
Management Area, and Schlagel Creek State Wildlife Management Area.

Highway 20 between mile markers 175 and 205.
Highway 97 between mile markers 109 and 141.
Highway 83 between mile markers 196 and 222.
Highway 12 between mile markers 1 and 12.
