The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Southwestern Dawes County in the Panhandle of Nebraska…

* Until 400 PM MDT.

* At 256 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Crawford, or
19 miles southwest of Chadron, moving southeast at 10 mph.

HAZARD…Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
southwestern Dawes County, including the following locations…
Belmont.

building.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service
office in Cheyenne.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature’s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
