The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Southeastern Dickinson County in central Kansas…
Southeastern Geary County in east central Kansas…
Western Morris County in east central Kansas…

* Until 700 PM CDT.

* At 614 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 4 miles north of Woodbine to near Ramona, moving
northeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE…Trained weather spotters. At 611 PM CDT, spotters in
Herington reported wind gusts up to 65 MPH.

IMPACT…Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include…
Herington, Council Grove, White City, Dwight, Wilsey, Parkerville,
Latimer, and Council Grove Lake.

Instructions

Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move immediately to shelter inside a strong building. Stay
away from windows.
