Eastern Wallace County in west central Kansas…
Thomas County in northwestern Kansas…
Logan County in west central Kansas…
Northeastern Greeley County in west central Kansas…
Eastern Sherman County in northwestern Kansas…

* Until 930 PM MDT/1030 PM CDT/.

* At 809 PM MDT/909 PM CDT/, severe thunderstorms were located along
a line extending from 15 miles southeast of Bird City to 4 miles
northeast of Brewster to 7 miles southwest of Winona to 10 miles
west of Leoti, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…The Goodland Airport reported 64 MPH winds at 7:54 PM MT.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.

* Severe thunderstorms will be near…
Levant and Winona around 915 PM CDT.
Leoti and Russell Springs around 920 PM CDT.

Other locations in the path of these severe thunderstorms include
Colby, Monument, Gem and Oakley.

This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 24 and 75.

Instructions

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

This thunderstorm is producing accumulating hail, which will make
driving hazardous, similar to snow or ice. If you must travel, be
aware of rapidly changing road conditions.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning
is one of nature’s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear
thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
