The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Northeastern Haakon County in west central South Dakota…
Southeastern Ziebach County in west central South Dakota…

* Until 500 PM MDT.

* At 349 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from
over South Eagle Butte to near Cherry Creek, or along a line from
19 miles east of Dupree to 31 miles south of Dupree, moving
southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include…
Cherry Creek, Kirley, South Eagle Butte, Intersection of Highway 63
and BIA Road 8 and southwestern Cheyenne River Reservation.

Instructions

Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing
widespread damaging winds and large hail.
