Northeastern Rawlins County in northwestern Kansas…
Southeastern Hitchcock County in southwestern Nebraska…
* Until 500 PM CDT.
* At 436 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles north of
Ludell, or 11 miles north of Atwood, moving north at 15 mph.
HAZARD…Tennis ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
northeastern Rawlins and southeastern Hitchcock Counties.
Instructions
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature’s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for northwestern
Kansas…and southwestern Nebraska.
